Equipment
Small kettle or saucepan
Citrus juicer (optional but helpful)
Measuring spoons
Tall glass or mug
Spoon for stirring
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
1
cup
warm filtered water
1/4
teaspoon
Himalayan pink salt
1
tablespoon
fresh lemon juice
Optional Add-Ins
1
teaspoon
raw honey
1
teaspoon
apple cider vinegar
A few mint leaves
Thin cucumber slices
Pinch
of cayenne pepper
I personally keep it simple most days with just lemon and pink salt.
Instructions
Step 1: Warm the Water
Heat the water until warm but not boiling.
You want it comfortable to sip, not piping hot. Extremely hot water can make the drink taste harsher and overpower the fresh lemon flavor.
Step 2: Add the Pink Salt
Stir the Himalayan pink salt into the warm water until fully dissolved.
The color may look slightly cloudy at first, which is totally normal.
Step 3: Add Fresh Lemon Juice
Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir again.
Fresh lemon really matters here. Bottled lemon juice can taste flat and slightly bitter.
Step 4: Add Optional Ingredients
If using honey or apple cider vinegar, stir them in now.
For a refreshing summer version, I sometimes add cucumber slices and mint leaves.
Step 5: Sip Slowly
Drink slowly instead of chugging it.
That slow sipping ritual is honestly part of the whole experience.
