Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings split and tips removed
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

For the Lemon Pepper Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ½ teaspoons coarse black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • Fresh parsley
  • Lemon slices
  • Extra black pepper
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prep the Wings

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Pat the chicken wings completely dry using paper towels. This step is extremely important because dry skin equals crispy wings.
  • Place the wings in a large bowl.
  • Add:
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Paprika
  • Toss everything together until the wings are evenly coated.

Step 2: Arrange on Baking Sheet

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Place a wire rack on top of the tray.
  • Arrange the wings in a single layer with a little space between them. This allows hot air to circulate and crisp the skin properly.

Step 3: Bake Until Crispy

  • Bake the wings for 20 minutes.
  • Flip them using tongs.
  • Bake another 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • The skin should look crisp and slightly blistered.

Step 4: Make the Lemon Pepper Sauce

  • While the wings cook, melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Add:
  • Lemon zest
  • Lemon juice
  • Black pepper
  • Lemon pepper seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Stir everything together for about 1 minute.
  • The smell at this stage is absolutely incredible.

Step 5: Coat the Wings

  • Transfer the hot crispy wings into a large clean bowl.
  • Pour the lemon pepper butter sauce over the wings.
  • Toss until every piece is glossy and coated.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • Top with fresh parsley, extra pepper, lemon slices, or parmesan cheese if desired.
  • Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
