For the Chicken
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Zest of 2 lemons
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Optional for Extra Flavor
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Lemon slices for garnish
- Extra butter for the sauce
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick better and allows the chicken to develop a golden crust.
If the chicken breasts are very thick, slice them horizontally or pound them gently to an even thickness. Even chicken cooks more evenly and stays juicy.
Step 2: Season Everything Well
In a small bowl, combine:
Salt
Black pepper
Lemon pepper seasoning
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Paprika
Lemon zest
Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken breasts.
Don’t be shy with the seasoning. Chicken breasts really soak up flavor beautifully.
Step 3: Heat the Pan
Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and butter.
Once the butter melts and starts sizzling lightly, place the chicken breasts into the pan.
You should hear that satisfying sizzle immediately.
Step 4: Cook the Chicken
Cook the chicken for about 5–7 minutes on the first side without moving it too much. This helps create a golden crust.
Flip the chicken and cook another 5–7 minutes on the second side until fully cooked.
The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
Step 5: Add Lemon and Garlic
Reduce the heat slightly. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the fresh lemon juice and let everything simmer for 1–2 minutes.
The sauce becomes buttery, lemony, and incredibly aromatic.
Step 6: Finish and Serve
Sprinkle fresh parsley over the chicken and add lemon slices if desired.
Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This keeps the juices inside the meat.
Serve warm and enjoy every juicy bite.
