Equipment

  • Large baking sheet or pizza pan
  • Pizza stone, optional
  • Mixing bowl
  • Small bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Rolling pin (optional)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cheese grater
  • Tongs or spoon
  • Pizza Cutter

Ingredients

For the Pizza

  • 1 pound pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup Caesar dressing divided
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • cups cooked chicken breast chopped or shredded
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Caesar Salad Topping

  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 2 tablespoons Caesar dressing
  • ¼ cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup croutons roughly crushed, optional
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Optional Garnishes

  • Extra shaved Parmesan
  • Lemon wedges
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Crispy bacon pieces
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • If you are using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats. A hot pizza stone helps create that lovely crisp bottom that makes homemade pizza feel extra special.
  • Let the oven get properly hot before baking. High heat is one of the secrets to a great pizza crust.

Step 2: Prepare the Pizza Dough

  • Place your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.
  • Roll or gently stretch it into a large circle or rectangle, depending on your baking pan. I personally like a slightly rustic shape. Homemade pizza does not need to look perfectly round to taste amazing.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled baking sheet or pizza pan.
  • Brush the edges lightly with olive oil. This helps the crust become golden and flavorful.

Step 3: Add the Caesar Base

  • Spread about ⅓ cup of Caesar dressing over the pizza dough.
  • Leave a small border around the edges for the crust.
  • Do not add too much dressing at this stage. Caesar dressing is creamy, and using too much can make the crust soft or soggy. A thin layer gives you plenty of flavor while allowing the dough to bake properly.
  • Sprinkle the garlic powder and black pepper over the dressing.

Step 4: Add the Chicken and Cheese

  • Scatter the cooked chicken evenly over the pizza.
  • Then add the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan.
  • I like using both cheeses because mozzarella gives you that beautiful melted pizza texture, while Parmesan brings the unmistakable salty flavor of a Caesar salad.
  • Make sure the toppings are spread evenly so every slice gets a good balance of chicken and cheese.

Step 5: Bake the Pizza

  • Bake the pizza for approximately 12 to 16 minutes.
  • The exact baking time will depend on your oven and the thickness of your crust.
  • The pizza is ready when:
  • The crust is golden brown.
  • The cheese is melted and bubbling.
  • The bottom of the crust feels crisp.
  • The chicken is hot.
  • Keep an eye on the pizza during the last few minutes. Cheese can go from beautifully golden to overly browned surprisingly quickly.

Step 6: Prepare the Romaine Topping

  • While the pizza is baking, place the chopped romaine lettuce in a mixing bowl.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of Caesar dressing and toss gently.
  • You want the lettuce to be lightly coated, not soaked. The goal is to keep that wonderful crisp texture.
  • If you are using croutons, add them just before serving. Crushed croutons add a fun crunch and give the pizza even more of that classic Caesar salad feeling.

Step 7: Finish the Pizza

  • Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Then add the dressed romaine lettuce over the top.
  • Sprinkle with shaved Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper.
  • If you like a little brightness, squeeze a small amount of fresh lemon juice over the pizza.
  • Slice and serve immediately.
